Do you have Church PTSD?

Unfortunately, many people grew up with their only experience of spirituality being that of organized religion. That tends to land for people somewhere along the spectrum of feeling not very helpful to downright terrible and traumatic.

spiritual perspective

So the result of that is that many people are left with this black or white kind of a view of human spirituality. Either you do that organized religion thing or you don't really know where to turn.

This can leave you feeling really lost. Like, "I know that's not what I believe, but what actually do I believe? I don't really know and I don't even know where to go about to find it. Because I know organized religion isn't for me."

Part of the big problem is that lot of things that have nothing to do with spirituality get wrapped into people's religious experience. to name a few - condemnation, judgement, close-mindedness, dogma. Things that are not really about the essence of your spiritual nature as a human being, get wrapped into and gloomed into this experience of organized religion, which in many ways is tainted with human issues around groups and structure and culture that are hard to avoid.

Now, I've met godly people and real a**holes from every spiritual tradition across the planet, really and I've travelled quite a bit. So it's not necessarily religion that is bad, it's just that there's a lot of crappy stuff that goes along with it.

Vision board vs Year tarot reading is an interesting study that helps the readers in a great way!

So if you are someone who is suffering a little bit from church PTSD, what I want you to know is that you have options, that you are a soul with a body, that your spiritual connection, however you define it - God, the universe, spirit, the divine, nature, love with a capital L, is an inherent birthright to your human experience.

I encourage you to look for ways that you can explore that. It will make your life feel more whole and connect you with what seems to be your sole purpose in this lifetime.

You are a soul with a body and I'm wishing you great things!
